VCUarts 2018 Fashion Show
Visual Identity + Event Strategy

For nearly 50 years, the annual VCUarts runway show has showcased the talent and dedication of fashion design and merchandising students, through featured garments and the production of the event. The visual identity aimed to capture the show’s theme for 2018, Momentum, as well as the creativity of the students and the rapid evolution of the fashion industry.

The combination of a strong ultramarine blue and a fluttering fabric texture also harmonized with the striking event venue. In particular, large digital displays featured an animated version of the show graphics, featuring a slow rotation that encapsulated the feeling of forward momentum, and brought visual interest to the spacious, and sometimes cavernous, venue. The use of these graphic elements in printed programs, event signage, posters and digital displays came together to leave an impactful impression on the audience.
